Hello, I’m Amanda Saint – author of novels, short stories, and feature articles.

My debut novel, As If I Were A River, came out in 2016 and my next one, Remember Tomorrow,  published in March 2019. My short stories have been widely published in literary journals and long and shortlisted for many international awards.

When I’m not writing fiction I write features for magazines and run my creative writing venture Retreat West and literary journal, WestWord. I work as a freelance fiction editor too and have helped hundreds of writers develop their novels and short stories.

I have been practicing mindfulness and meditation for many years and I am currently training to be a Mindfulness Teacher and Counsellor. Soon I will be providing Mindful Writing Courses through Retreat West and through a new venture, I’ll be teaching both one-to-one and group Mindfulness sessions.

Nomadic by nature, since 1998 my husband, John, and I have travelled around Europe, Asia, the South Pacific coconut islands and Australia, had a month-long visit to the African island of Mauritius; and lived in New Zealand, Ireland, on a canal narrowboat, in a yurt, and in many different cities, towns and villages all over the UK. We hope to make it the American continent some day soon too. And one day we may even settle down.
