Hello, I’m Amanda Saint – author of novels, short stories, and feature articles.
My debut novel, As If I Were A River, came out in 2016 and my next one, Remember Tomorrow, published in March 2019.
My short stories have been widely published in literary journals and long and shortlisted for awards such as the Mslexia Flash Fiction Prize, Fish Flash Fiction Prize, the Ink Tears Short Story Prize, and the Flash500. My tiny story, Stained Red, won the Editor’s Choice Prize at 101 Words.
When I’m not writing fiction I write features for magazines and run my creative writing venture and independent publishers, Retreat West. I work as a freelance fiction editor too and have helped hundreds of writers develop their novels and short stories.
Nomadic by nature, since 1998 my husband, John, and I have travelled around Europe, Asia, the South Pacific coconut islands and Australia; and lived in New Zealand, Ireland, on a canal narrowboat and in many different cities, towns and villages in the UK.
Before I was a full-time writer I worked in various jobs as a marketing manager, online editor, magazine editor, communications consultant, event manager, call centre slave, waitress, pie heater, shop assistant, and more. But now it’s all about the words.
